Author Biography

Koos Zwaan, Editor –– Inholland University of Applied Sciences, Research Group Creative Business

Koos Zwaan is Associate Professor in Media, Culture and Citizenship at Inholland University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. He obtained his PhD with a dissertation on the career development of pop musicians. His research interest  include popular music and popular culture, the music industry and new media. He has co-edited a volume on fan studies (The Ashgate Research Companion to Fan Cultures, Ashgate, 2014, together with Linda Duits and Stijn Reijnders) and a volume on the TV format Idols (Adapting Idols: Authenticity, Identity and Performance in a Global Television Format, Ashgate, 2012, with Joost de Bruin).
