Author Biography

Hillegonda C. Rietveld, Centre for Media and Culture Research London South Bank University

Dr Hillegonda Rietveld is Reader at London South Bank University, where she manages BA Music and Sonic Media, which she established n 2003, and coordinates PG research programme of Centre for Media and Culture Research (CMCR). Her research publications address the development, creative practices and experience of electronic dance music cultures. In addition for her work for IASPM@Journal, she is member of the Advisory Board for Dancecult, Journal for Electronic Dance Music Culture. She has been involved professionally in music culture since 1982, when she released her first electronic recording as part of Quando Quango, for Factory Records.
